Cross Country Narrative

Ready...set BANG! We set off up the hill. But, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a glimpse of something yellow…

I ran up and over the lip of the hill and kept running. Up down and all around until I got to a valley. It was huge, with a massive slope into and out of it. “I really don’t want to do this” I said with NO enthusiasm. Suddenly I heard a low growling from behind me. I turned around, only to see a very hungry cheetah. “AH!” I screamed with fright . The cheetah growled and jumped at me, I moved out of the way. I looked at my watch, it was lunch time.

I sprinted faster than I ever had before! The cheetah was hot on my heals. I screeched past everybody. The cheetah was right behind me, he must really want his lunch I thought. The terrain was turning into the hill so I started taking big strides, I was gaining speed fast. I glanced behind me, only to find the cheetah was also gaining speed and taking big strides. Now I could feel the cheetahs smelly breath on my back, I started to sweat. Suddenly I couldn’t feel the cheetahs breath, instead I could hear cheering. I crossed the finish line with surprise, I didn’t even realize that the finish was close!

I turned around only to see the cheetah growl in defeat and retreat into the bush. “Yes!” I shouted. I grabbed a sausage, the cheetah could have just had one too!!!
THE END
